PrimeKote® coating is integrally bonded to the bracket base by a unique coating process in the factory. The durability of the bond is enhanced by the application of a surface silicon layer prior to the application of the polymer coating.

PrimeKote is TP Orthodontics patented method of treating the entire bracket surface with a polymer conformal coating. PrimeKote serves two purposes: it enhances the strength and durability of the bracket/adhesive bonds and it provides a protective layer that guards against corrosion.
In vitro testing has shown that Nu-Edge brackets are more corrosion-resistant than stainless steel.2 This is due to the combination of PrimeKote and the natural moisture-resistant properties of cobalt chromium.

- PrimeKote is demonstrated to improve bond strength, even in a wet environment2.
- PrimeKote increases adhesive flow, allowing it to better penetrate the metal mesh base.
- Brackets treated with PrimeKote have been shown to retain initial bond strength even after two years3.
- PrimeKote is compatible with all orthodontic adhesives.
- PrimeKote provides maximum adhesive transfer from the tooth surface during debonding for fast, easy clean-up4.
